Metrostar announces first Gene Hunt Licences

Metrostar has confirmed that DCI Gene Hunt from the hit BBC dramas, Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars, is to get his own range of licensed products.

Following the success of the best-selling books, 'The Rules of Modern Policing' and 'The Future of Modern Policing' by Hunt, Metrostar launched him as a character at Brand Licensing Europe in October 2008 with immediate success.

Danilo is developing a range of cards, sound cards and a calendar, whilst Susan Prescot Games is creating a 1970s and 1980s trivia board game. Push Merchandising will launch a range of Gene Hunt t-shirts and Transworld is to publish a third book titled 'The Wit & Wisdom of Gene Hunt.'.

Metrostar's Claire Potter explains :

"There are few more outspoken characters in British drama than Gene Hunt. He's a licensee's dream - with a raft of wonderful sayings and one-liners. We'd love to see him 'perform' in even more categories and are in active conversations with giftware and gaming licensees."

DCI Gene Hunt stars in the third series of Ashes to Ashes on BBC One in 2010.
