Pedigree wins annual publishing rights to ‘Spooks’ & ‘Hustle’
Kudos Film & Television, the producers of the award-winning BBC drama series, ‘Spooks’ and ‘Hustle’ has awarded the annual publishing rights in the UK & Eire to Pedigree Books. The deal, which covers both brands for a three year term, was brokered by Claire Potter at Metrostar.
Critically acclaimed, spy drama ‘Spooks’ was created in 2002 and has run for seven series on BBC One. Meanwhile, ‘Hustle’s team of ‘grifters’ have been perfecting the art of the ‘long con’ for five series on the same channel. Two of the highest-rating drama series on British television, they have between them, won BAFTA, Royal Television Society and Broadcast awards.
The annuals will be written by Guy Adams, author of Kudos’s best-seller, ‘The Rules of Modern Policing’ (Transworld) and are aimed primarily at ‘Spooks’ and ‘Hustle’s grown up fans. Published in autumn 2009, they will form an important part of Pedigree’s growing portfolio of annuals aimed at adults which also includes ‘Family Guy’ and ‘24’.

Series eight of ‘Spooks’ will appear on BBC One later this year, coinciding with publication of the ‘Spooks’ annual. Series six of ‘Hustle’ will appear in 2010.
