Transworld secures rights to Ashes to Ashes book

Ashes to AshesTransworld, the publishers of ‘The Rules of Modern Policing 1973 Edition’ written by DCI Gene Hunt from ‘Life On Mars’ are to publish a follow-up book, inspired by the BBC hit drama ‘Ashes to Ashes’. The book, which will be published in October, will be written by ‘Rules’ author, Guy Adams.

Produced by Kudos Film and Television, ‘Ashes to Ashes’ saw the return of the ‘Manc Lion’ DCI Gene Hunt, but this time in London and in 1981 where Gene is on a mission to tackle the “southern nancy criminal scum”. Gene is joined by time travelling cop and single Mum, DCI Alex Drake who is ripped from her 2008 world of equality and respect to work with the arrogant and stubborn Gene and his sidekicks DC Chris Skelton and DS Ray Carling.

Series one ran from January to March 2008. A second series has been commissioned by BBC One for 2009.
