Kudos appoints Metrostar as 'Life On Mars' licensing agent
Kudos Film & Television has appointed Metrostar as its licensing agent for its hit BBC drama, 'Life On Mars'.
'Life On Mars' is the story of Sam Tyler an ambitious police detective from 2006 who whilst investigating the abduction of his girlfriend, is transported back in time to 1973 to work with a team of detectives led by Gene Hunt, a 'gut-feel' DI, who use 1973 methods and procedures. Sam feels like a fish out of water. But he must come to terms with an unfamiliar environment and an archaic CID unit where, using his modern know-how, he is integral to the unit’s investigation process as he learns how to adapt to their old-fashioned technologies and etiquettes.
Metrostar's Managing Director Claire Potter comments, "Life On Mars is the most talked-about TV drama for some time and we are delighted to be representing it. Audiences have been captivated by the great stories and great acting and by the contrasts the series highlights between 1970s Britain and today. The Ford Cortina, the music, platforms and flares - even the test card girl and old lucozade bottle - transport us grown ups back to our childhoods - and therein lies the distinctiveness and consumer appeal of this very unique TV brand."
