Metrostar brings pre-school music brand ‘Tin Pan Annie Music’, to Brand Licensing Europe
Metrostar, the brand licensing company formed by ex-BBC Worldwide marketer Claire Potter, is bringing ‘Tin Pan Annie Music’ to Brand Licensing for the first time.
Tin Pan Annie Music was created by Annie Houseago in 1995. Annie's years of teaching experience, holiday work as a children's entertainer and (perhaps most importantly) being a Mum, helped her to develop ‘Tin Pan Annie Music’ - a structured, lively programme of classes for babies and young children with simple concepts and a formula that works.
Key to Tin Pan Annie Music’s philosophy is ‘live music’ and Annie believes passionately that allowing little ones to experience and create live music provides them with a wonderful platform for later learning.
“Making music with the grown ups that love them, makes children more confident, articulate, numerate, coordinated, imaginative and happy. We know this because we see it every day in our music classes.” she says.
It has recently been proved that it’s making music, not listening to music, which provides the best foundation for later learning. So much so that Children’s Minister Beverley Hughes announced at the launch of the National Academy for Parenting in November 2006 that parents who do not read and sing nursery rhymes to their young children are to be helped to do so.
Annie appreciates that grown ups need the tools to help them and by expanding the Tin Pan Annie Music brand, her vision is to help all parents and carers to unlock their children’s fullest all-round potential in a fun way by enjoying and making music together.
Metrostar's Managing Director Claire Potter comments,
"It’s amazing to see how little ones engage with Tin Pan Annie Music. They’re thoroughly engrossed from picking up their ‘tick tock’ sticks to the bubbles at the end. It’s lively and colourful and it’s great to see the quiet ones growing in confidence and ability as each week passes. I hope we can find some like-minded partners to bring Tin Pan Annie Music to life for all children."
