Gameloft to release Spooks mobile game
Gameloft®, a leading developer and publisher of games for mobile phones and consoles, announced today that they have acquired the mobile games license for the highly popular and BAFTA award-winning TV show 'Spooks', the most popular spy drama in the United Kingdom from Kudos Film & Television. The deal was brokered by Kudos’ agent, Metrostar.
'Spooks' follows a crack team of MI5 spies working in the counter-terrorism department as they protect the nation against threats and attacks. Spooks will be back on television for its seventh series in autumn 08.
Gameloft’s mobile version of 'Spooks' will immerse gamers in a realistic MI5 adventure with spy games, terrorist threats and national security issues. Gamers will have access to the same technologies and resources used by the MI5 officers of Spooks and can experience what it’s like work for one of the most important intelligence agencies in the world alongside their favorite characters from the show.
The game is divided into several chapters, taking 'Spooks' fans to different locations within the UK in order to complete their mission. This truly interactive gameplay incorporates “point and click” sequences, a discussion system and several mini-games.
Kudos Commercial Director, Daniel Isaacs, said “Spooks has millions of avid fans in the UK. Given Gameloft’s expertise and experience in creating high quality and enjoyable games based on dramatic properties we were confident that would create a game that stays true to the brand and will delight ''Spooks' fans”.
